In honor of the reopening, MCASB has commissioned a new benefit limited edition artwork — a neon by Los Angeles based artist David Horvitz. The artwork, titled Seaea, is an edition of 5 with 2 artist's proofs, at $7,500 each; it will be on view in the MCASB Window Gallery starting January 22. Proceeds will be split between the museum and the artist.

David Horvitz’s (b. Los Angeles, California) artworks meander playfully among material forms such as performance, artist books, mail art, plants and photography, as well as immaterial forms such as memes, walks and rumors. Recent solo and group exhibitions include: The Musical Brain, High Line, New York; FOR RUTH, THE SKY IN LOS ANGELES, The Wende Museum; Los Angeles; La Submersion des Images, Jean Kenta Gauthier, Paris; Running in Place, Protocinema, Istanbul; Let Us Keep Our Own Noon, Centre Pompidou-Metz, Metz. Recent acquisitions include MoMA, New York; SFMOMA, San Francisco.
