Schools & Teachers
Conversations on Contemporary Art for Art Educators.
MCASB offers professional development workshops and lectures for local art educators. Five annual meetings on Wednesday afternoons give art education professionals the opportunity to learn about contemporary art, how to incorporate contemporary art into their curriculum, meet exhibiting artists, and socialize with their peers over cookies and coffee.
Tours & Guides
MCASB offers tours through all exhibitions for individuals as well as groups. Tours for younger audiences combine conversations directed by Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) and hands-on art activities. Materials for self-guided tours are available in print and electronically.

Visiting Artist Series (VAS)
The museum’s Visiting Artist Series (VAS) pairs teaching artists with local schools, after-school programs, and nonprofit organizations for multi-visit educational workshops that meet the Academic Content Standards for Visual Arts, inspire creativity and critical thinking, and promote meaningful engagement through contemporary art. Visiting Artist Series (VAS) workshops can be held on-site at the museum and off-site and will be customized for the needs of each group. On-site visits will include tours directed by Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) and hands-on art activities led by Engagement staff and a teaching artist. More information about VTS tours can be found at the Tours & Guides page of our website.
To inquire about Visiting Artist Series (VAS) workshops please contact our Engagement Department at email@example.com or call 805.966.5373 x110.
