The Bureau of Linguistical Reality: Earth Day at Alameda Park

The Bureau of Linguistical Reality is a public participatory artwork by Heidi Quante and Alicia Escott focused on recognizing a collective loss for words to describe emotions and experiences we have about man-made climate change and other Anthropogenic events.
As part of Beyond 2º and the Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival, The Bureau will engage visitors and participants to identify the emotions, experience, or phenomena around environmental change for which language fails to directly encapsulate, and together create new words as a way to directly identify and discuss these experiences.
