Cassandria Blackmore is a glass artist and painter, acclaimed for her unconventional approach to reverse painting. She completed her thesis at Pacific Northwest College of Art exploring Eastern and Western perspectives on art. She is a recipient of the prestigious Hauberg Fellowship for painting and was honored as the Renwick Smithsonian artist of the month.

Her work is in the public collections of The Crocker Art Museum, The Bronfman Collection, The Gates Collection, Neiman Marcus Art Permanent Collection, Lexus Corp., University of Washington, MGM Center, Floyd and Delores Jones Playhouse, Pacific Central Bank, The Peninsula Collection, City of Seattle, Washington State Arts Commission, The Yellowstone Private Collection, The Bellagio Collection, Aria Collection, Deloitte Consulting. Blackmore’s recent commissions include a large scale permanent installation for the lobby of the new Waldorf Astoria.

Cassandria lives and works in Santa Barbara in a lovingly restored historic building, built in 1907 as an art studio, used by the likes of Diego Rivera, Francis Rich, Albert Herter, Thomas Moran and others.


The smART Talks lecture series serves to increase awareness of regional contemporary art through a series of three talks a year by local artists about their work, careers, and creative process. The series, begun in 1996, was created in honor of Helen Rosenberg, mother of Susan Rose, and grandmother of Julie Weiner, and honors artists who live and work in the Santa Barbara area.
