Khvay Samnang and Erin Gleeson In Conversation

MCASB invites you to join internationally-acclaimed Cambodian artist Khvay Samnang and Erin Gleeson, curator and scholar of Cambodian contemporary art for a salon-style conversation among artists and art professionals about independent arts initiatives, moderated by MCASB associate curator Brooke Kellaway.

As part of the current exhibition, Bloom Projects Exchange Series: Khvay Samnang, Footprints of Yantra Man, Samnang and Gleeson will be talking about their founding of Sa Sa Bassac, an arts resource center in Phnom Penh. We welcome members of our arts community to join the conversation, whether in talking about Sa Sa Bassac or your own initiatives (or ideas for starting new initiatives!).

Please RSVP here by Tuesday, November 1, 2016.

MCASB’s Bloom Projects Exchange Series involves collaborations with small- to mid-sized “off-centered” art organizations in cities across the globe, opening dialogues with the Santa Barbara arts community about the necessity of new or expanded arts initiatives. The series addresses various factors that influence how these initiatives emerge and endure, notably in regions outside of major artistic centers, as is our town.
